The PPC will be delivering New Negotiations course, which was designed in conjunction with PPC and KAIPTC in October 2007. The course focuses on competencies for negotiations in peace operations.

PO Foundations Course
EMP in Mali
PPC will be facilitating a Foundations of Peace Operations course at the EMP in Mali. The objective of this course is to strengthen core competencies so that civilian police will be better able to contribute effectively on peace operations.

Documentation Centre Visits
Burkina Faso, Ghana, Mali, and Nigeria
PPC staff will also be conducting structural visits to the peace documentation centres as part of the ongoing West Africa Police Project. The Documentation Centre (Doc. Centre) is a resource for training, education and promotion for peace operations. The Doc. Centres are used by police officers/gendarmes who are eager to learn more about current issues and challenges in PO. They are an essential resource for the national structure in charge of supporting UNPOL/CIVPOL deployment. The program will enhance four existing Documentation Centres (in Burkina Faso, Ghana, Mali, and Nigeria) in the first year of the program.
