Exercises and simulations

An exercise is a training activity that places civilians, military and police together in a mock crisis situation, compelling them to work cooperatively toward peaceful resolution. The PPC's exercises are frequently stressful, multi-day events that allows peace operations practitioners to learn, practice and rehearse in a safe environment where the cost of error is not measured in human lives or the destruction of scarce resources.

The Salmo scenario is the PPC’s flagship peace operation scenario

The Pearson Peacekeeping Centre (PPC) designs and delivers integrated exercises to a variety of audiences. Our team of civilian, military and police subject matter experts, applied researchers and role players has worked with the member countries of NATO, the European Union and the African Union, as well as the Canadian International Development Agency, the UN Department of Peacekeeping Operations and many others. Our exercises can be designed for training audiences from across the spectrum of peace operations disciplines.
