Great facilitators can make the difference between a typical and an exceptional learning experience. At the Pearson Peacekeeping Centre (PPC), we strike a balance between theory and practice, but our real strength is the people we work with.
The PPC has over 200 facilitators, a group composed of retired and practicing academics, senior police officers, diplomats, humanitarian staff and high-ranking military personnel. Together, they have extensive peace operations experience on 5 continents. The diversity of this group illustrates the PPC’s commitment to a multi-disciplinary approach, incorporating diplomacy, development and defense strategies with civilian, military and police perspectives.
Ultimately, all PPC learning programs are facilitated by people who have field experience in peace operations – from demobilization to negotiation and training. Our courses are founded on research and delivered by a team of talented people who have managed responses to highly stressful conflict situations. Rather than offer the ‘right’ answer, our team of facilitators uses problem-based learning to encourage participants to develop their own conclusions.
