What we do

The Pearson Peacekeeping Centre (PPC) teaches and trains those who serve in conflict zones. Currently, no other organization in Canada – and few in the world – delivers what the PPC does, to the diverse audience that it reaches. As the PPC works around the world, it advances Canadian values in helping resolve international conflicts.

We offer courses, peace operation simulations, workshops, conferences and other learning events to civilians, military and police around the world, and our research keeps us on the leading edge of what we do.

Our comprehensive approach sets us apart:

  • PPC courses have a multi-dimensional approach, including civilians, military and police, which reflects the diversity in the field and promotes dialogue and cooperation.
  • We use an activity-based learning approach that encourages participants to come up with solutions that work for them. Our simulations are stressful and realistic – compelling learners to think on their feet as they would be required to do in a conflict situation.
  • The PPC is supported by an extensive International network of subject matter experts, industry-leaders and key organizations.
  • Our services are multinational, multilingual and multicultural.

The Government of Canada looks to the PPC to deliver programming that fulfils Canada’s international obligations. At the same time, we seek to provide helpful advice to government through our research, the expertise of our international network and our work in the field.
